Description [New] Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 1965 Dual-Mag Stratocaster Journeyman Relic ~Faded Aged Charcoal Frost Metallic~ #CZ570927 [3.57kg] The 2023 Limited Edition 1965 Dual Mag Stratocaster Journeyman Relic manufactured by Fender Custom Shop, Fender’s top line, is now in stock. Two pieces of carefully selected alder are used for the body material. The pickup is equipped with a custom shop dual magnet Strat. By combining Alnico 5 on the pole piece on the bass string side and Alnico 2 on the treble string side, the sound of each string when playing chords becomes clearer. 【neck】 The neck material is quartersawn maple. Quartersawn is a method of cutting wood into straight-grained pieces. Straight-grained wood refers to a wood grain with parallel growth rings, and necks made from straight-grained wood are stronger and superior to wood-grained ones in many ways. Straight-grained wood is rarer and more expensive, so guitars and basses with quartersawn necks cost more than their regular counterparts. In the United States, most wood is cut into planks (or planks). The grain of the cut wood is parallel in some parts, while in others it is arched at 60 to 70 degrees. This simple and easy cutting method, in which the teeth are cut straight into logs, creates very little wasted material, keeping costs low. For this reason, the method of cutting out the grain has become a worldwide standard. On the other hand, straight-grained wood is characterized by the grain of the wood growing straight vertically. Straight-grained wood is not only sturdy and resistant to warping, but also has a calming beauty with parallel grains. Straight-grained wood is not only resistant to warping and expansion and contraction, but also has the advantage of being colored, making it extremely suitable for guitar necks. [Finish, color, aging processing] Lacquer is used for the finish on both the body and neck. The lacquer finish allows the tone wood to „breathe”, bringing out natural tones and providing attractive color changes over time. Body color is Faded Aged Charcoal Frost Metallic. A color that reproduces the charcoal frost metallic that has changed over time. The body and parts have been subjected to an aging process called Journeyman Relic. The weather check on the painted surface of a vintage guitar, peeling of the paint, bumps and scratches are reproduced to create a finish that looks just like a vintage guitar. Compared to the non-aging model called NOS, it sounds better probably because the coating is thinner. [Fingerboard, radius, frets] The fingerboard uses a AAA grade round rosewood fingerboard. Round bonding means gluing the maple neck material and the rosewood fingerboard material onto a curved surface, and is a bonding method that Vintage Fender has been using since mid-1962. The radius of the fingerboard is 9.5 inches, and the combination of narrow-tall frets provides excellent playability. [Handwound pickup] The pickup is wound by turning a bobbin attached to a small machine. With mechanical winding, the fixed wire is automatically moved back and forth as it is wound, making it possible to wind the wire with good tension evenly throughout. Handwound is a little different in that the wire is held in the hand, and the tension, back and forth movement, and winding of the wire are all done by hand. This skillful technique produces rich and wonderful sound. Because it is handmade, each pickup has its own personality due to slight errors.
